I LOVE MYSLF

A few years ago during Covid when the world was turned upside down and schools and businesses shut down, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to send our daughter to an afternoon Nature Camp for a semester. We had to pack snacks and water each day and at that time my daughter loved bringing her snacks in this metal lunch box. Each and every day that I packed her snack box, I would write a special note with messages to have a good day and that I loved her. The one day I forgot, this is what I saw upon her return from Nature Camp. She wrote herself her own love note!

"I love myslf"

What a kid! And a wise one at that at her ripe young age of 5.

I feel like we are all on this journey of self love. Some days are easier to do so than others, and we all struggle at times to fully and completely love and accept ourselves. But what if that is the work that is needed right now? Can you go to a mirror and look yourself in the eyes and state to yourself “I love you”? Can you speak to your body, your organs, your heart and inform these parts of yourself that you love them?

What if you chose to practice this every day? Here is your invitation to practice self-love each day.

Upon waking in the morning, do not open your phone or look at the news or social media. Instead, go directly into the bathroom and after relieving yourself and perhaps washing your face, you get to brushing your teeth. But you will be using your non-dominant hand to brush your teeth (this helps create and open new neural pathways in your brain). When you are done brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand, you look at your eyes in the mirror and you state out loud “I love you” 10 times to yourself. It may feel awkward and crunchy at first to do this, but if you do this daily for a good month or so, you begin to rewire your mind into someone who believes they love themselves and you begin to make choices in life that align with someone who loves themselves and begin to feel much better about yourself and your life in general.

This is a free and efficient way for you to begin living from a self-loving place within.

And YOU ARE WORTH IT!

My prayer for today is : may we all remember to love ourselves, even when (especially when) it feels like or appears that others may have forgotten.

I love you!

Love,

Kristy
